Gardens of lush vegetables, farm to table excellence and so much more make Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch every unicorn lover's dream. When dining out, ambience is one of the most important factors in my decision of where to eat. Farmstead showcases their restaurant as a place for everyone. It is welcoming, rustic and earthy making you feel comfortable and at home in your backyard. When you walk in you can see everything from the farm in the back, to the chefs preparing fresh foods to order. Farmstead is the place to be for authentic, farm to table eats in the heart of Napa Valley. Their farmhouse cuisine showcases ingredients fresh from their farm, ranch and local vineyards.

Let's talk menu...especially apps. If you know me, I never go to a restaurant without ordering at least one thing from the appetizer list. (Usually the apps are some of the best dishes on the menu) If you’re not an artichoke person, you will be after going to Farmstead. When in season, they are both tender and delicious, making it easily one of my favorite dishes on the menu. With a side of gribiche (mayo based sauce) and grilled lemon this dish is absolutely unforgettable.

Next up, the grass-fed steak tartare, and Farmstead’s take on this fancy dish is absolutely divine. Start by mixing the egg with the tartare. For the ultimate bite, add the tartare onto a freshly made potato chip and top it with pickled onions and cucumbers. Talk about melt in your mouth good.

Now that you are kinda full of apps, entrees are calling your name. Although ordering a burger is normally the safe option, this burger is legit amazing. Grass-fed beef, vella cheddar and arugula on a potato bun make this burger unicorn girl approved. Every bite is a magical experience that you never want to end.

If you want something on the lighter side, the wild caught petrale sole is the perfect dish for you. This fish is paired perfectly with wine forest mushrooms, english peas, fingerling potatoes and dukkah, almost too pretty to eat, but don’t worry I licked the plate clean.

If you are looking for the perfect farm to table restaurant that is a little pricey, go to Farmstead. The food speaks for itself and the atmosphere is the cherry on top for the perfect evening out.
